Entourage Thoughts
So I knew it would come to a drug problem. It was only a matter of time, the writers had to tackle the issue of drugs and successful Hollywood types. I will admit that I thought it was going to be Turtle or Eric that had the drug trouble, but it only makes sense that Vince has the problem.
You can feel the pressure from Turtle and the new girl, and you could see something snap with that accident from doing his own stunts. I’m just worried that because the show is so short on run time and short on episodes per season that the writers will make lite of the issue and he will just be magically cured after a long weekend and some concerned calls by friends or family (remember mom is still waiting in NJ).
It would be fitting to end the season with the drug troubles and questions about the new movie, but it will feel like more of the same. It seems every season is ended with questions about Vince and his ability to overcome the odds, Ari and his troubles of managing his personal life with work life, and the crew having whatever issues they think they have without the big $$ earner to take care of them.
I think it would be cool to end the series with Vince addicted and his entourage having a mixed bag of success and failure. Then let Ari spin off his own show with cameos of Vince, Eric, Turtle, and Drama showing up with updates. It could work like The Wire, a prior HBO series, that had season series with a different focus each year that all came together in the end.
